From brief to finished structure — here's how we work
Brief & Consultation
We start by understanding your structure — its loading requirements, the environment it will live in, and any standards or approvals it needs to meet. Whether you have detailed drawings or just a concept, we work with you to define exactly what needs to be built. No obligation to quote.
Design & Drafting
If drawings don't yet exist, our design team develops fabrication drawings from your requirements. We select appropriate steel sections, connection details, and surface treatment to suit the application — then issue drawings for your review and approval before fabrication begins.
Material Procurement
We source structural steel sections and plate from local Perth distributors — UB, UC, RHS, SHS, angles, channels, and flat bar as required. All material is traceable to AS/NZS 3678 or AS/NZS 3679 as applicable. For stainless steel or aluminium structures, material is sourced and handled to prevent cross-contamination.
Fabrication & Welding
Structural steel is cut, fitted, and welded in our Forrestdale workshop. All structural welding is performed to AS/NZS 1554.1 Category SP by qualified welders with current procedure qualifications. We maintain welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualification records (WQR) for every process used.
Surface Treatment & Delivery
Completed structures are surface-treated to specification — zinc-rich primer, full paint system, or coordination of hot-dip galvanising through approved partners. We supply full quality documentation including material test records, welder qualifications, dimensional inspection records, and any third-party certification required. Delivery or pickup from our Forrestdale workshop.
