Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our capabilities
Our CNC plasma cutting handles steel up to 25mm thickness with precision accuracy. For welding, our 500A MIG systems can weld plate up to 50mm thickness in a single pass, with multi-pass welding capable of handling even thicker sections. We regularly work with 6mm to 20mm plate for structural applications, and have capability for both thinner gauge work (down to 1.6mm) and heavy plate fabrication.
Yes, we provide comprehensive documentation with every project. This includes material certificates (3.1 certificates to EN 10204), weld maps, welder qualification records, inspection test plans, and Manufacturer's Data Reports (MDR). All documentation is traceable to specific components and welds, providing full audit trails for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
Absolutely. Our flexible workshop setup handles everything from one-off prototypes to batch production runs of hundreds of units. For prototypes, we offer rapid turnaround with design consultation and iterative development. For batch production, we implement quality control systems, jigs, and fixtures to ensure consistency across all units. Many of our clients start with prototype development and move to batch production once designs are proven.
We serve all major industrial sectors in Western Australia: mining and resources (Pilbara, Goldfields, South West), construction and infrastructure (commercial buildings, bridges, civil projects), marine and offshore (vessels, jetties, coastal infrastructure), manufacturing and processing (food, chemical, mineral processing), and oil and gas (onshore and offshore facilities). Our Forrestdale location provides easy access to Perth's major industrial areas including Kwinana, Welshpool, Hazelmere, and Canning Vale.
Lead times vary based on project complexity and workload. Simple fabrications (brackets, small assemblies) can be completed in 1-3 days. Medium complexity projects (structural assemblies, custom equipment) typically take 1-3 weeks. Large or complex projects (multi-tonne structures, batch production runs) may take 4-8 weeks. We provide detailed timelines during the quoting process and maintain open communication throughout the project. Rush jobs can be accommodated when schedule permits.
